Natchez Trace The most scenic road to antebellum Natchez. With a 50 MPH speed limit, this is a beautiful way to travel from Nashville to historic Natchez and its antebellum mansions.

Carnton Plantation and The Carter House Carrie McGavock turned her Carnton mansion into a field hospital to help take care of the nine thousand casualties from the eight hour Battle of Franklin (See our Special Carnton Plantation Tour Package). The Carter House exterior is marked with hundreds of holes from rifles and cannons of the Union Army.

 

Belle Meade Plantation The grand home and operational center of a 3,000 acre plantation that sired the most notable horse stock in the country. Now restored and preserved for future generations. A must see.

 

Historic

Franklin on Foot A walking tour of the historic downtown village of Franklin. The Courthouse gallows balcony, Tiffany stained glass windows, home of a local lady who was a Civil War spy, and many other interesting facts and legends. (See our Special Carnton Plantation Tour Package).

The Hermitage   President Andrew Jackson’s estate. The tour features a fascinating museum and video, tour of his home, grounds and church.  The famous Monell’s restaurant operates the cafeteria.  Some of the best southern fried chicken in town.Image
